Strawberry Bourbon Bloom
A summer cocktail sure to have you reaching for whiskey also summer long. This light and refreshing sipper is topped with seltzer making it perfect for winding down after a hot summer’s day and celebrating the days wins. Plus, we take advantage of one of summer’s most beautiful bounties sweet strawberries to give us a red drank for upcoming Juneteenth celebrations!
Strawberry Bourbon Bloom Recipe
3/4 oz Lillet
barspoon-1/4 oz anise hyssop syrup *
4 dashes rhubarb bitters
3 ripe strawberries
Seltzer
strawberry to garnish
Muddle strawberries in a shaker and then add remaining ingredients and ice. Shake till cold then double strain into a rocks glass with crushed ice, top with seltzer. For the anise syrup: Combine a handful of anise hyssop leaves with 1/3 cup sugar and 1/3 cup water. Bring to a simmer and then allow to cool before straining off leaves.]
