Will it New Dawn: Dunderstruck

Recipe testing the Dunderstruck with New Dawn bourbon - it only took two rounds to find the perfect adjustments!

Originally made with a 1:1:1 of rum, pineapple juice, and strawberry syrup with just a splash of absinthe and a 1/2 of Campari we had to make a few minor adjustments to get this cocktail to New Dawn. What can we say, “When we want juice, we’ll just drink juice.” Upping the New Dawn bourbon and the absinthe and reducing the pineapple and strawberry makes this a much more balanced drink where you can taste all the ingredients and enjoy what each is bringing to the table. We weren’t sure if we made enough changes to name a whole new cocktail but if you think otherwise drop us a comment with your name ideas.

Whiskey Dunderstruck

1 oz New Dawn Bourbon

1/2 oz Campari

1/2 oz pineapple juice

1/2 oz strawberry syrup

1/4 oz absinthe

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake till cold. Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube and garnish with pineapple if desired.
