New (and improved) Whiskey Cocktail
The height of sophistication during the ‘Gilded Age’, improved cocktails are historically those that have been “improved” with the addition of absinthe or maraschino liqueur. Considering our deep love of absinthe and maraschino liqueur around here we didn’t need an excuse to try this improved version of the Old-Fashioned. As always, we reached for the 10-year Wheated Whiskey, ‘cause that’s how we like our old-fashioned, but the 6-year does hold up nicely here considering the straight sugar is cut by a splash of absinthe and maraschino liqueur.
