Cigar Pairing: Drew Estate Liga Privada H99 Super Ancho Gordo
"Yes. Want more now." is the answer in our cigar database of whether I would smoke Liga Privada's H99 Super Ancho Gordo again. And if you happen to be a good friend, you've probably been gifted one of these by now because it very quickly has become one of my favorite cigars. With this cigar you get the best of both worlds, smooth and rich with just a hint of spice to bring it all together.
H99 Tasting notes with New Dawn whiskeys
Rich leather, molasses, vanilla, and brown sugar come together with deep tobacco notes, a sweet Aleppo pepper, and allspice. With the 6-year you get fresh baked bread, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves while the 10-year elevates the cigars bold sweetness and matches the spice with fruity-floral notes of pink peppercorns and oranges. This cigar is an excellent pairing with either the bourbon or the wheated whiskey - it just depends on your mood. Truly, this stick is so consistent through the second and final thirds and brings a symphony of flavors and complexity out in both whiskeys the longer you smoke. For me, this is my go to cigar when playing board games out in the backyard.
While my preferance is to sip this with New Dawn neat you can't go wrong with an Old-fashioned made with the wheated or a Scarlet Elixir with the 6 year bourbon.
