Cigar Hunt: Definition Cigars Pig Maduro

Not a lot of time for a smoke? Looking to unwind after a whirlwind travel schedule? Flying Pig cigars, with their distinctive short and stout vitola, are often overlooked gems in the world of premium cigars. Many enthusiasts, even me, are drawn to larger sizes and might dismiss them at first glance. However, those who venture to experience these small but mighty smokes are consistently rewarded with a surprisingly complex and flavorful journey, making them truly underrated treasures that deserve far more recognition.

And so I present Definition Cigar's Pig Maduro. Black-owned out of Dallas, I discovered this brand on my travels to Chicago for Clink Festival and let me tell you, I have never been more excited for a cigar and New Dawn pairing. This smoke might be small but Definition's Pig Maduro packs a lot of flavor, rich and bold at first draw letting you know you're in for a special treat. With notes of pepper and charred steak, I immediately knew this would be a perfect pairing with New Dawn’s 6-year bourbon which adds brown sugar and citrus notes evoking a bbq brisket. As the cigar opens up you get added whispers of clove, mint, and cardamom evoking lates nights in Turkey or the Caribbean and family cookouts.

An umami note prevails that I can't quite place though Mert insists it's shitake mushrooms but what I can say is this is a meal in a cigar, in a tiny cigar, who knew! Consistent and smokeable all the way to the nub, Definitions Pig Maduro was a pleasant surprise and much needed reminder to slow down and enjoy even the small stuff. Recommend picking up several of this tasty smoke because there is a good chance one is just not going to be enough! Check out their website for an authorized dealer near you and of course, pick up a bottle of our bourbon for the ultimate pairing.
